In a thrilling encounter at Austin Stack Park in Tralee, Kerry secured a dramatic one-point victory over a resilient Mayo side, thanks to a late point from David Clifford. The game was closely contested throughout, with the scoreline remaining tight and both teams exchanging leads.

Kerry held a slender two-point advantage at halftime, with standout performances from David Clifford, his brother Paudie, and Seán O’Shea contributing crucial points. Despite Mayo’s impressive efforts, Kerry maintained their lead for most of the game, with both sides trading scores in a closely fought battle.

Mayo’s hopes were dampened when they were reduced to 14 men just before the hour mark. However, they rallied late in the game to level the score.

In a nail-biting finish, David Clifford sealed the victory for Kerry with a last-minute point, securing their second successive Division One win in front of a sold-out crowd.
