Armagh secured their second victory in Division 2 with a commanding 12-point win against Meath at the Athletic Grounds, with the game finishing Armagh 2-16 Meath 0-10.
While Armagh had only scraped past Louth in their opening game and still without Rian O’Neill and Aidan Nugent they made light work of a Meath side who looked out of their depth.
Saying that, Armagh struggled to find their rhythm early on, mirroring their narrow victory over Louth the previous week. However the game changed just before half time when Cian McConville lashed home a shot to the roof of the net. The goal meant Armagh took a 1-8 to 0-5 lead in to the break.
The second half saw Armagh swiftly extend their advantage, with a goal right after the break further demoralizing Meath. Although Meath’s Eoghan Frayne kept his team in the contest with consistent scoring, Armagh’s superiority and depth of talent ultimately overwhelmed Meath.
The game’s latter stages were marked by a loss of momentum due to substitutions, but Armagh, led by standout performances from Conaty and others, managed to keep extending their lead.
As the match concluded, Armagh’s comprehensive victory was a testament to their adaptability, strategic execution, and individual brilliance, overcoming their initial sluggishness to remind supporters of their capabilities.
