Roscommon and Galway cant be separated

Full Time Score: Roscommon 0-9 Galway 0-9

In a challenging encounter at Dr. Hyde Park, the fierce wind proved a dominant factor as Connacht rivals Roscommon and Galway played could not be separated.

Despite trailing by three points at halftime, Galway, seemed to have an advantage with the wind at their backs for the second half.

However, Roscommon displayed resilience and managed to secure a share of the points, even after losing Donie Smith to a red card in the 61st minute.

Conor Cox opened Roscommon’s scoring account, but Cillian Ó Curraoin’s well-executed play resulted in the game’s first point from play.

A well-struck free into the wind by Matthew Tierney brought the teams level again in the 22nd minute.

The introduction of Brian Stack saw Roscommon gain momentum with three points from Cox giving them a 0-07 to 0-04 lead at halftime.

Second Half

Early frees from Finnerty and Ó Curraoin hinted at a Galway comeback, but Roscommon’s improved work rate across the pitch led to points from O’Carroll and Diarmuid Murtagh, re-establishing their three-point lead.

Nevertheless, Galway continued to narrow the gap with points from Kieran Molloy and Matthew Tierney, before Paul Conroy levelled the match with a late free.

Both teams sought a winning score, but a draw seemed a fair outcome.
