Offaly chairman Michael Duignan slams negative fans and says they ‘should be very ashamed’

Offaly chairman Michael Duignan says negative fans ‘should be very ashamed’ of themselves after their comments online after Offaly’s defeat to Clare in Round 3 of the Allianz League.

A “hard luck” post by Offaly GAA just after the final whistle was greeted with plenty of anger from supporters and Duignan didn’t spare those detractors when insisting that “you have no idea what these players do for their county”.

Duignan wrote on X: “Thanks lads for your comments. No one on here has ever been inside an inter county dressing room. You have no idea what these players do for their County. All of you should be very ashamed.”

His comments came after Offaly blew a 1-10 to 0-4 lead against Clare at home in Tullamore.
