An inspired Louise Ní Mhuircheartaigh scored 1-4 from the bench to give Kerry a six-point victory over a tough Waterford side in the National Football League Division 1.
Although Ní Mhuircheartaigh only entered proceedings in the 47th minute, the Footballer of the Year showed everyone just why she won that crown with a outstanding performance.
Waterford start brightly
Waterford started well and went 2-1 to 0-0 ahead after just 10 minutes on the clock.
The gap was closed though by Niamh Carmody and Jadyn Lucey,who hit 1-4 between them in the first half to bring Kerry on level terms with Waterford at half time.
The 2nd half was nip and tuck up until the 60th minute. By this stage it would be Louise Ní Mhuircheartaigh to break Waterford hearts as her goal put clear daylight between the teams.
Kerry would finish strong after and came away with a 6 point victory on a score line of 2-11 to 2-5.
