In a thrilling encounter at Hastings MacHale Park, Mayo managed to edge out Dublin by a solitary point, despite trailing for the majority of the game.
At a point in the second half, Dublin held a four-point lead. However, the home team staged a spirited comeback, led by Ryan O’Donoghue’s successful shots, which brought the teams to an even scoreline by the end of the first half.
Dublin regained the lead in the early stages of the second half, but Mayo turned the tide when Stephen Coen punched in a goal following Jordan Flynn’s shot that dropped short. This marked the home team’s first lead of the match with approximately 20 minutes left on the clock.
