Man arrested after ‘handgun’ pulled at meeting of Gaelic referees in Dublin

First Reported by Ken Foy, Irish Independent

There was a huge panic at a Gaelic Games referees’ meeting in a north Dublin hotel last night when an elderly man pulled out what many believed to have been a handgun.

The Gardai in Dublin quickly descended on the scene in Malahide. They determined that the handgun he pulled out at the scene was in fact an imitation gun.

The man aged in his 70s was arrested at the scene but has since been released. Currently, the individual has not faced any criminal charges.

It is believed the man has health issues that will be taken into consideration should any case move forward.
