Kilkerrin-Clonberne win All-Ireland club title with victory over Kilmacud Crokes

Chloe Miskell scored four points at Croke Park on Saturday as Kilkerrin-Clonberne fended off a strong challenge from Kilmacud Crokes to secure their fourth consecutive AIB All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship title.

In a rematch of last year’s thrilling semi-final between the same teams, which Kilkerrin-Clonberne won after extra time, Miskell was supported in the scoring by Olivia Divilly and Eva Noone.

Under the leadership of Willie Ward, the Tribeswomen maintained their hold on the Dolores Tyrrell Memorial Cup in impressive fashion. The four-point margin between the sides remained as Miskell and Noone exchanged scores with Aoife Kane and Cotter in the second half.

However, Cotter was joined by Éabha Rutledge on the scoresheet, keeping Crokes within reach as the game neared the final quarter.

Paddy O’Donoghue’s Kilmacud Crokes were determined to challenge, but Kilkerrin-Clonberne responded with quick-fire points from Olivia and Siobhan Divilly in just 30 seconds, easing the pressure on them.

Olivia Divilly then added another point, directly responding to Cotter’s seventh of the game. Despite a late push from Crokes, Kilkerrin-Clonberne, with TG4 Senior Player of the Year Nicola Ward once again playing a key role, held firm to retain their title.
