Jason Foley Hopeful on Kerry Return.
On Sunday the 17th of March, Kerry played Roscommon in the sixth round of the Allianz national league. Kerry ran out winners on a scoreline of 1-16 to 1-11.
After the 59th minute Foley exited the field of play after appearing to twist his ankle. Foley was helped off the field being unable to put any weight on the injured ankled.
According to Stephen Barry with the Irish Examiner, Foley strained ligaments in his ankle.
Barry spoke with Kerry selector Diarmuid Murphy who quoted:
“It’s unlikely he’ll take part in the Munster Championship this year but after that, we’d be hopeful enough that he’ll see some action. We’ll see. It depends on how quickly he recovers after that but unlikely for Munster Championship. It’s hard to say now really, the swelling on his ankle has to come down, and to be fair to Jason, he’s not a fella who’s had a lot of injuries over the years.”
