Derry remain unbeaten with comfortable win away in Galway

Galway 1-11 Derry 3-10

Derry extended their winning streak in the Allianz Football League with a convincing victory over a depleted Galway team at Pearse Stadium.

Despite failing to score in the final quarter, Derry secured their fourth successive win, largely thanks to an early goal from Eoin McEvoy.

Galway, missing key players like Liam Silke and Shane Walsh, struggled to keep pace, conceding two second-half goals. Derry’s dominance was evident as they maintained a comfortable lead, with points from players like Ciarán McFaul and Shane McGuigan.

Galway fought back with late scores, but their efforts fell short, leaving them unable to close the gap. Derry led at halftime after a lively first half, highlighted by McEvoy’s early goal and spirited play from both sides.

The win sets up Derry for a showdown with Dublin next weekend, while Galway faces a crucial match against Monaghan.
