Former Cork footballer Larry Tompkins has said that ending up in the second tier Tailteann Cup would be detrimental to football in the county.
The question is would Cork be better off in the Tailteann Cup with a very good chance of winning it?
The other option is a run in the Sam Maguire and the harsh reality is they get knocked out pretty early in the Summer.
They are currently 3 games into division 2 league with 3 defeats. If they get relegated they will need to reach the Munster Final to stay in the Sam Maguire.
